(March 17, 2026) Mena, Arkansas - After winning a pair of home region games on Saturday in comeback fashion, UARM was back at home this afternoon for a mid-week game against Bossier Parish Community College. Just a few weeks ago, the Cavaliers walked off the Bucks in Bossier City to win 10-9. Today's single 9-inning game was the second of three games between the two schools.
After a pair of innings at Union Bank Field, the Bucks and Cavaliers were tied 2-2. In the top of the third inning, Bossier put up 4-run top half to open up the game furthered their lead in the top of the sixth with 5 more runs to lead 9-2. UARM would score a run in the bottom half of the sixth on a Ben Welch (Coppell, TX) opposite field home run.
BPCC got that run back and added another once again add to their lead, but the Bucks offense scratched for 3 runs in the bottom half on a Andrew Stancin (Fernandina, FL) 3-run bomb across Vivian Street that made the score 13-6 after seven inning. The Cavaliers always seemed to have an answer and scored 2 more runs in the top of the eighth inning, but UARM had the biggest inning of the game, putting up a snowman, 8 runs, in the bottom half. The Bucks would walk or get hit by a pitch six times in the inning. Ethan Miller (Hallsville, TX) hit a RBI double, while Bryson Denning (Longview, TX) plated a run on a RBI single to centerfield. Sam Kutz (Waco, TX) finished the scoring in the inning, grounding into a fielder's choice for the RBI.
UARM finally found an answer in the top of the ninth. Dylan Duncan (Stuttgart, AR) had a 6-pitch inning to shut out BPCC to bring the Bucks back to the plate. The Bucks got a base runner in the bottom half, but the rally came up short to fall 15-14 to Bossier Parish.
Trey Smith (Horatio, AR) got the start for the Bucks and gave up 2 unearned runs in 2.0 innings of work. He gave up 1 hit, while striking out 2 hitters.
The Bucks will be back in action on Thursday to begin a in-region series against NJCAA DI Eastern Oklahoma State. First pitch is at 1 pm at Union Bank Field. The 4-game series concludes on Saturday in Wilburton, OK.
