(April 26, 2025) Jonesboro, Arkansas - The Bucks competed in a 2-day meet hosted by Arkansas State University on Friday and Saturday. The men competed against tough competition with DI and DII schools in both the open and invitational events. 

The weekend started with Yermy Gonzalez (Horatio, AR) and Alfred Rodriguez (Dalhart, TX) competing in the 800 meter invitiational on Friday evening. The men competed well and finished 6th and 7th, respectively. Gonzalez finished with a time of 1:57.57, while Rodriguez was right on his heels with a 1:57.60. 

On Saturday, Gonzalez kicked off the day with a 4th place finish in the 1500 meter run with a time of 4:11.10. Rodriguez finished 20th with a 4:20.92 for a personal best, while Noah Burns (Weatherford, TX) finished with 4:36.95.

Desmond Thompson (Fort Smith, AR) finished 11th in the 400 meter dash with a time of 54.93. 

Burns continued his day in the 800 mter run and finished 6th with a 2:09.75. The run would be a personal best for Burns. 

The Bucks ended their weekend with Darryn Weaver (Diabol, TX) in the 100 meter dash. Weaver placed 13th with an 11.54. Weaver competed on Friday in the 200 meter dash and finished 21st with a time of 23.67. 

The men now have a week off for the end of the semester and finals before competing again at the University of Arkansas.
