UARM Splits Day 1 against Western

(April 29, 2026) Altus, Oklahoma - After having the week off from region play last week due to weather, the ladies hit the road this week for their longest road trip of the season. The Bucks began a 4-game region series this afternoon against Western Oklahoma State College. The series was supposed have a home and home doubleheader, but potential weather moved all games on the road for UARM.

The ladies fell in the first game of the afternoon, 10-4, but the Bucks rebounded to get a 6-4 win to split the afternoon against the Lady Pioneers. The bats came alive, and UARM recorded 13 hits to score their 6 runs in the win. 

Linley Collins (Whitesboro, OK) led the way for the Bucks with 5 hits, including a pair of doubles. The sophomore shortstop drove in a pair of runs and scored 1. Kensley Allen (Muskogee, OK) and Brooke Tyler (Gainesville, TX) each had big days at the plate. Allen recorded 4 hits, including a solo home run in the loss. She did the most damage at the plate driving in 3 runs. Tyler also had 4 hits, including a double, that allowed her to drive in a run and scored 2 herself. Emily Stout (Vilonia, AR) also recorded 3 RBIs on 3 hits.

Abigail Koppein (Mena, AR) started the second game of the day and went the distance, pitching 7.0 innings. Koppein (11-3) gave up 4 runs on 5 hits in the win. 

The ladies will have an earlier morning on Thursday, as the doubleheader is scheduled for 11 am.
