(May 4, 2026) Ardmore, Oklahoma - After completing the regular season with a 35-15 overall record, the Bucks will compete in the NJCAA DII Softball Southwest Plains District Tournament May 6th-10th at Regional Park.
The ladies enter the tournament as the #2 seed from Region 2 after finishing region play with a 21-7 record. The Bucks started ranked as the #25 team in NJCAA DII Softball in the preseason poll and have found themselves receiving votes in the past two rankings.
UARM is in the bottom half of the bracket and will face off against #7 SAU Tech (12-18) on Wednesday, May 6th, at 1:30 pm. SAU Tech competes in the East Division of Region 2. Earlier this season, the Bucks took a pair of games in Camden from the Lady Rockets. If the ladies advance to Round 2, the Bucks will face off against the winner of #3 National Park College (22-8) and #6 Carl Albert State College (13-15). NPC took the top spot in the East Division Standings and split with the Bucks at Cummings-Cecil Field earlier this season. UARM's loss came in a 12-inning contest. Carl Albert is in the West Division with UARM, and the Bucks took all four games of the region series back in March. The game on Thursday is scheduled for 6:30 pm.
The top half of the bracket features #1 Murray State College. MSC comes into the tournament with a 28-0 region record and will take on #8 Southeast Arkansas (10-20) in Game 3 on Wednesday. Murray State took both games earlier this year in Pine Bluff. MSC is in the West Division, while SEARK plays in the East. The winner will then take on the Game 1 Winner between #4 Western Oklahoma State (20-8) and ASU-Newport (16-14) at 4 pm on Thursday. The Lady Pioneers won both games at home back in March over ASUN. WOSC plays in the West Division, while ASUN is in the East. The winners of each bracket will play at 4 pm on Friday, May 8th, at 4 pm at Regional Park.
The winner of the Southwest Plains District Tournament will then advance to the NJCAA DII Softball World Series in Spartanburg, South Carolina at Tyger River Park.
