(April 19, 2025) Magnolia, Arkansas - After a few successful weeks, the Bucks got up early on Saturday and headed for the Southern Arkansas University. The ladies are continuing their quest for Nationals with just a few regular season meets left this season. Southern Arkansas University hosted its annual Dan Veach Invitational on Saturday.

Darcy Vineyard (Claremore, OK) bettered her personal best in the 3000 meter steeplechase that was good enough for 2nd overall at SAU. The freshmen finished with a 11:37.70, less than three seconds behind first place. Vineyard competed in the 800 meter run and finished 27th with a 2:39.05. 

Sharon Strydom (Cape Town, South Africa) competed in her normal pair of events on Saturday. She started her day in the 400 meter dash and finished 9th overall with a 59:74. In what is considered her best event, Strydom finished 5th overall in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:24.01 out of 33 competitors. She is still competing for her postseason hopes of qualifying for Nationals that is hosted in Hutchinson, KS in May.

Jocelyn Hernandez (Mena, AR) competed in the 400 meter dash and finished 22nd with a time of 1:12.09.

The Bucks will now head to Arkansas State University on Friday and Saturday for the Alumni Open.
