After playing two years at UA Rich Mountain on the inagural team, Kristen McMillan continued her playing career at Hardin-Simmons University in Abeline, TX. She is now returning to her alma mater to join Head Softball Coach Tracy Nealy's staff beginning June 1st.
During her playing career at UARM, McMillan hit for a .303 average with 101 hits, 23 doubles, 2 triples, 7 home runs, and 56 RBIs. She was a utility player, primarily as a catcher and shortstop. At HSU, she hit for a career .290 average with 78 hits, 20 doubles, 1 triple, 2 home runs, and 45 RBIs. At HSU, she was named Second Team All-ASC at shortstop, while also being name Academic All-ASC.
Coach Tracy Nealy is beyond excited to have a former player of his joining his staff for the 2025-26 year. "Kristen was a great player at UARM, but an even better person. She was a part of the very first team and believed in the process of establishing a strong junior college program. She was recruited during a time when all we had to show them was a piece of paper of our plans. I'm elated to have her joining my staff and returning to Mena."
Kristen has a Bachelor's of Science in Human Science and is currently pursuing a Master's of Science in Kinesiology, Sport, & Recreation.
McMillan will coach the catchers and middle infielders at UARM.
